CHOP Juvenile Diabetes Center:

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia  Juvenile Diabetes Center – CHOP is a charitable, nonprofit hospital  and philanthropic gifts are vital to making the breakthroughs needed by children worldwide. The Juvenile Diabetes Center provides valuable resources for families and children learning to cope with Type 1 Diabetes (TID). Gaudeamus supports all those who fight TID, including researchers, medical providers and caretakers. Most importantly, we gave an enthusiastic round of applause to the many children with TID, most especially, Ruthie Norman.

Vera’s Village at Epiphany of Our Lord Church:

“Vera’s Village” is dedicated to the support of a 19 month old local girl named Vera, who, at 5 days old, was diagnosed with a genetic disorder called Bohring-Opitz Syndrome. BOS is an extremely rare, life-limiting disorder, which affects approximately 1 in 100 million individuals worldwide. It is caused by a fluke mutation on a single gene and has devastating effects on development. Vera sees 18 specialists at CHOP, as nearly every bodily system has been affected by this disorder. Despite her challenges, Vera remains an incredibly strong, resilient and extremely sweet little baby girl.  She has spent much of her life at CHOP and has undergone g-tube placement surgery, urology surgery, cranial surgery, and she will be having a second cranial surgery later this month, followed by spinal surgery in the spring. Vera’s mother, father, 3-year old sister and the rest of her family and friends invite you to join her army of supporters known as “Vera’s Village.” All monetary donations will be used to support Vera’s medical care, insurance costs, as well as the construction of an accessible home for Vera, which will be built as an addition on the grandparents’ property in Skippack. Vera and her family send their utmost gratitude for your thoughts, prayers, and generosity as they continue to care for their precious “tiny but mighty” baby girl.

Our Lady of Guadalupe (OLG):

Our Lady of Guadalupe (OLG) Parish is pleased to support some very worthwhile organizations through donations received through the Gaudeamus Music Ministry Concert. OLG has been supporting Sainte Anne de Bois de Laurence Parish and Saint Jean Bosco School in Haiti for many years through financial donations, mission trips and more. Through our parish Respect Life Committee, we are pleased to support five local respect life charities that provide shelter, counseling, baby items, ultrasounds and more to pregnant women, families and children as well as helping those who seek spiritual healing from a previous abortion. These agencies are: Guiding Star Ministries, Rachel’s Vineyard, Legacy of Life Foundation, Saint Margaret of Castello Maternity Home and A Baby’s Breath.
